In the Philippines, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday led Filipinos in paying their respects to the late Queen.
鈥淚t is with profound sadness that we receive the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Balmoral Castle yesterday evening,鈥 .
鈥淪he exemplified to the world a true monarch鈥檚 great dignity, commitment to duty, and devotion to all those in her realm,鈥 he added.
He said that Filipinos in the Philippines and those working in England 鈥渉ave found ourselves having developed a great sense of affection for her as a Queen, as mother, and as a grandmother.鈥

President Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos went to the British Embassy on Friday, 9 September, and were the first to sign the condolence book for Her Majesty the Queen.
